System Requirements - Network
Network installation of bos™ will require that the client machine participates on a network. A file server is not necessary if a peer to peer installation is being utilised but file server installation is preferable.
All client machines must have full access rights to the installation directory (Read, Write, Create and Modify) and any bos™ files that are installed to this directory.

Peer To Peer Server
NB: You should expect the machine that is being used as a peer server to slow down from time to time as users access data from the CD or Hard disk. For this reason we do not recommend this type of installation for a large number of users. Also it is also worth insuring that the hard disk in this machine is fast as this will help prevent slowing the machine.

Novell Server
Most Novell servers will be able to be used as a server for bos™. No actual software is installed to the Novell server, it is purely used as a disk resource.
The most important requirement of a Novell server is that it has the most up to date service packs installed. These are available for download from Novell’s Website. This can be found at http://www.novell.com/ .
X If your hardware meets Minimum requirements bos™ will run but it will operate slowly and too the detriment of other applications that may be running.
R If your hardware meets Recommended requirements then bos™ will run at a reasonable speed and other applications should not be impacted.
For best possible operation you should aim to surpass the recommended hardware requirements.
