Q: Is bos year 2000 compliant?
A: We trust that the following statement about our products provides you with the assurances you require, however, should you have any further points on which you require clarification please do not hesitate to contact us.
Computers and Operating Systems
The fact that a particular software package is Year 2000 compliant does not necessarily mean that it will operate correctly on your computers. You must ensure that both your PC and its operating system (Windows etc.) will work through the millennium change. Please contact your hardware supplier to ensure this is the case. Note also that although Microsoft says its operating systems and other software are Year 2000 ready, it recommends that PC software be upgraded to versions from 1997 or later.
bos (or "books on screen")
The bos software has been designed to be Year 2000 compliant. By this we mean that all programs and data in bos CD-ROMs will be tested for Year 2000 logic problems and we will take such action as we consider appropriate to rectify any problems. We are however dependent on the environment in which our customers use our products and we cannot accept responsibility for failure of the software where either the computer running the bos application, or the operating system run on the computer are not themselves Year 2000 compliant or where other non-compliant software being used may affect the environment. In any event, our total liability is as stated in the end-user licence (Version 4.0) accompanying bos CD-ROMs.
If you are in any doubt, please contact your computer hardware supplier and other software suppliers.
